Abstract/Overview
Perhaps the single most difficult project phase is gathering and managing business and system requirements. There may be many people involved, each with their own, often conflicting, expectations and needs. This course examines several facets of the process, taking the approach that gathering requirements is a consultative activity. It presents several methods, models and techniques to help analysts work with the business as consultants. After taking this course, you will have the skills needed to plan for elicitation activities, clarify requirements as you go, and provide clear and accurate feedback throughout the elicitation process.
Audience - Who Should Attend?
Business Systems Analysts who will be responsible for gathering requirement information from a variety of sources, including leading requirements workshops. Also of value to Business Analysts and Users who will be explaining business requirements, and to Technical Systems Analysts expanding their role into the business realm.
Prerequisite
Working experience as a Business Systems Analyst or Business Analyst is highly recommended. If you are familiar with problem solving techniques like brainstorming, and comfortable facilitating a small group, you should get along just fine.
